Terri Morse is Director for Engineering, Operations & Technology Technical Excellence, The Boeing Company, Everett, WA. Technical Excellence (TE) is an enterprise level initiative directed at raising the level of technical competency of the Boeing work force resulting in a higher quality of products and services, externally recognized technical leadership, and increased productivity for the company.
The Technical Excellence foundational programs include the Technical Fellowship, External Technical Affiliations, and External Technical Affiliation Recognition. In addition, TE has active projects in Knowledge Management, Critical Skills in Partnership with Human Resources, and Technical Training in Partnership with Learning, Training & Development.
Terri Morse started working at The Boeing Company 26 years ago in Aerodynamics. She’s had engineering and management positions developing Flight Controls, Autopilot/Auto throttle, Flight Management Systems, Flight Deck Systems, Mechanical/Hydraulic, Environmental Control, and Electrical Wiring systems. She’s been part of the original design teams for the 757/767, 737-300, 747-400, 777, and 787 airplane. In addition, she has been leader of the Define aspect of the Phantom Works Lean & Efficient (L&E) Thrust responsible for developing the next generation processes and design tools for use across the Boeing Company. Focus programs for L&E have included 787, Unmanned Combat Vehicles, Boeing Satellite Services, and Future Combat Systems. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Central Washington State University.
Terri is an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and National Leadership Coach for the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). She also serves as Loaned executive for Leadership Snohomish County and previous loaned executive of King County’s Leadership Tomorrow Program, Corporate Council for the Arts, and United Way. In addition, she serves on the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE) College Industry Partnership Board of Directors, Industrial Research Institute (IRI) External Technical Director’s Network and Research-on-Research Committee, and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Engineering Women Advisory Committee
She has received the Hewlett-Packard Innovation Award for her work in establishing a Boeing sponsored National student competition with SWE called Team Tech, in which she still serves as National Award Coordinator. Over 35 University campuses and 500 students have participated in the competition over a 13 year history. Terri has been recognized in Who’s Who In the World, Who’s Who In America, Who’s Who Of American Women, and Who’s Who In Science and Engineering
Terri and her husband, Mark, live in Frontier Airpark and are building a 4-seat composite airplane.
